2.5 billion single-use coffee cups are thrown out every year in the UK alone. We wan't to do our part making sure at least some of them, are not hurting our planet.
ETHICALLY SOURCED COFFEE
We work closely with coffee partners who are ethically sourcing beans and making sure workers on the farms are paid a decent wage and their work environment are up to standard.
We work closely with our suppliers to only receive the amount of produce needed, to successfully avoid any waste.
Bagasse coffee lids & recyclable cups
Bagasse is the dry pulp material that remains after crushing sugarcane stalks when producing their juices. Bagasse is a biocompostable product, and will completely biodegrade within 30-90 days in the ground leaving nutrient rich soil with no toxins.
One of our goals is to eliminate the majority of our paper use in the café. Obviously this is a hard task, but we're determined to make it work.
Becoming carbon neutral is one of our biggest task going forward. We want to support the envorionment, and make good what damage has been done.
COFFEE GROUNDS & BIOFUEL
Believe it or not, coffee grounds can actually be turned into biofuel. We are battling the logistics, but we are certain that we will achieve this goal in the future.
