This is a truly unique dark chocolate spread. I have tasted many and the one I have chosen for our Giribizzi range has an incredible balance between the cocoa paste and the hazelnuts. This balance is where the secret and skill of the artisan producer really makes the difference; using cacao from Central America and Tonda Gentile Hazelnuts from Langhe (a sub-region of Piemonte), the hazelnuts, still in their shell, are kept in silos to preserve the flavour until they are needed. When production starts, they are shelled, roasted, and ground to a paste; the cocoa and other ingredients are added and mixed again to achieve a smooth, blended product which is a velvety taste sensation.
The secret of this spread relies upon the quality of the hazelnuts, the careful roasting process and, of course, the quality of the cocoa beans from Central America. No palm oil is used so this spread is naturally, deliciously rich with an intense creamy chocolate texture. You won’t find a more grown up, indulgent spread. Artisan made by a master artisan chocolatier in the “Langhe” countryside, a sub-region of Piemonte.
